Value Study

After I made this I thought it turned out well and actually looked really cool. I thought it was going to be hard but the oil pastels blended really easy. I think this practice turned out well but if this is practice i wonder what the real thing is going to look like. I think what worked well was my color choices but what didnt work was the fact i made it lighter way to early and that could have made it A LOT better. I think the most difficult part of this was getting the shades to look like they were actually there and that there was actually light shining on it because you can't blend the colors close you have to make it look like it fades. What I learned from this is that shading isnt that easy it actually takes time and effort to get it to look believable and that making an outline and coloring it in isnt always how it works you sometimes have to build up the shape and the color and that even if it doesnt look good at first you can always make it work.
